The DfT have today announced the decision to proceed with the scheme. Construction is expected to start in Spring 2009.
There is no sign of anything happening on the ground yet.
Work commenced on 11 August and signs warning of the roadworks have now been erected.
Although traffic is still using the existing roundabout, works are progressing well on all sides of the junction.
Traffic is now using a temporary road layout while the bridge works are undertaken.
The junction is beginning to take shape, with bridge beams being lifted into place today.
As of this morning drivers are now using the new bridge and slip roads while works are completed on the main dual carriageway link.
The completion date has been delayed due to the civils contractor going into administration. A new contractor has now been appointed to complete the works.
The new junction became fully operational on 29 January 2011.
