Construction of a new grade-separated junction on the A90 at Laurencekirk, to replace the existing flat crossroads between the A90 and A937.
No design has yet been selected for the new junction. Site investigations and traffic modelling are ongoing and options are due to be produced by 2018.
The work is taking place as part of the Aberdeen City Region Deal.
Transport Scotland held an exhibition today in Laurencekirk displaying three options for junction improvement, all including a flyover.
A public exhibition was held on Friday 20th to display the preferred option. They’ve selected option 1a, described as a grade separated diamond junction, though the diagrams indicate a dumbbell. Construction will take three years.
The exhibition panels detailing the new junction have been published online.
